lots of gaps in this story. i get paranoid about being pleasing to my reader and the idea of writing sometimes gives me anxiety. i want honesty! in denver, colorado. making my way. completely frustrated with busses, i wish i could get in a car with a stranger. but not just any stranger! oh no, oh no. not oscar celaya. sex offenders use craigslist too! too lazy and frustrated to put out my thumb, it looks like i'll have another overnight expensive uncomfortable ride to the promised land, salt lake city, tomorrow. the ride here was the worst yet--9am-1am with a rap star with a 10,,000$$$ watch trying to cuddle me, starting at 10am. shocked and always giving the benefit of the doubt, i am partially to blame for letting him put his head on my shoulder. in part
i have spent time in three very different colorado settings. 1. cousin sarah in boulder. took me out to eat the most expensive vegan food i've ever had, and a drive in the mountains, and puppies, and her whole apartment to myself at night. 2. villa ville koola. a friendly space in denver, complete with garden, bike shop, 7 residents and couches in the garage. we played sardines and drank root beer floats at a birthday party in a church. one person hides in the dark church, and everyone looks for them. when found, you have to hide with them, and then with the group. the last person is the loser, and is punished with their lonesome walk around a big dark church, knowing they're being watched. 3. gab and chris, two friends i studied with in germany. last night they took me out on the town! to vegan food and to drinks. and today we climbed a mountain at the foot of the rockies. 6 miles.
drinking coffee now. i could still pass out any minute.
soon i'll be in utah, soon i'll be in california.
soon
soon
soon
and what am i learning from all this?
well
i guess
there are some, many things that are hard to describe
i am learning landscapes and boundaries
